Battery Tender Install
Thanks to forum member Glen e for the install suggestion. Here are some pics that I took today during my install.
Remove the cover that's next to the fuse box. Push down on the tabs and lift. Attach your (+) feed to one of the empty post, I used the 4th post, and attached the (-) feed to the negative bolt, and then snap the cover back in place. I ran the cord through the hood latch and out through the front grill. Enjoy! Last edited by 1hprush; 10-07-2018 at 01:29 PM. |

Thanks for taking the time to post the pictures. I've just been attaching the tender with the clips. I'll hardwire it now.

The only thing I would add is get some gloss black duct tape, clean the spot with some alcohol, and tape the receptacle/connector (shown above) near the back part of the grill so it doesn't show. It'll also keep it waterproof and won't flop around in the wind.

That's what I am doing but I don't have a spare nut that threads onto the post. I am wondering if anyone knows what size nut I need to buy.

Did mine last winter, but if IIRC it was an M6. As for the ground wire, I was leery about loosening the GND lug so I put it behind one of the fuse block mounts. Works just fine.

Instead of running the wire across the top to the hood latch hole, run it straight down between the battery and radiator and fish it through the lower grille and zip tie it to one of the grills opening, This is how I ran mine, just a suggestion.

I wired mine onto the main positive cable coming into the fuse box... Same one you jump start with.
Though, this charger spends all its time at 25%... So I should probably measure the current to make sure it's not going to overcharge the battery when I'm gone for a few days, with work, lol. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk |

Is a 6’ extension cable the answer?
