2016 Camaro SS Reverse Light LED Replacement Install Guide

First off! A huge shout out to Kashi for outlining the items needed to make this work without the LED glow.

Thanks to Kashi, I swapped my reverse lights and crafted a quick and dirty guide with my GoPro. Overall this swap isn't that simple if you want to avoid the glowing LEDS of death. You will need a harness with an inline resistor on one side to eliminate the glow.

I have listed both the lights and the harness I used below the video.

Harness: ($12.99) - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01...ilpage_o01_s00

W21W LED's: ($20.99) - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o06_s00

Hsve you tried to install harness? I had to rework mine and dremel off the connector lugs. And as said, you only use harness on ONE side.

I will assume you didn't watch the video... I highlight what I did to make it fit. Also, yes. Installed only one load resistor on the driver side.

I am getting this one today with some nice Sylvania LED 7440's. Will see how it works!

Great Write up!

I am curious what you mean by the LED glow? Is this what messes up the back up camera? I have leds on my wife's reverse lights and get this red grid looking glow in her back up camera. Different vehicle but LED glow maybe what you are talking about.
I was just looking at these same lights and was going to explore this next week! Every thing except these lights are now LED.

That one is fairly cool. Just clamps onto the current cabling. The only worry I would have is the cable section isn't that long. Might be hard to clip that on.

Without the harness, the bulbs stay on weakly but it is visible with car completely off. Harness solves this. Camera works fine with these lights

The problem is, my free time is once the kids go to bed. The weekends are filled with family and driving

I'll start sneaking away once the paint issues are resolved and I can install my new badges, tint for the misc lights and the gfx kit when it arrives. I have a Portted throttle body incoming as well. So lots to do...

here are a couple pics of the nubs that need to be ground down:

after dremel - it is still plenty tight in connecting without the nubs...
