Jerky shifts when cruising?

(Automatic 8)
Anybody have any issues where they're at a light and when it's time to go you lightly push the gas and the shift from 1st to 2nd jerks the car back as well as yourself? No issues in the later gears or when going up in RPM in lower gears.

Can this be related to the A8 issue? I remember getting the first flush and the gears transitioning was smooth or maybe that was in my head but getting the shudder again 4,000 miles later and I feel like the torque converter is just done for, anybody had this issue?

Just had my fluid changed at 73k miles. 2 weeks later the shudder is back at low speeds (20-25mph) around 11-1300 rpm. Today, it was jerky like that between 1st-2d gear.

There have been several iterations of the transmission fluid used to resolve the A8 shudder issue. If your car had the fluid flush done with an earlier fluid then the shudder could be coming back. Your car has a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty so hopefully a flush with the latest fluid is still covered under the warranty. There are very few complaints about shudder after a flush with the latest fluid.

Although not as common as the shudder, a harsh 1-2 shift is another common complaint with the A8 transmission. The dealer should be able to look at that along with the shudder problem. The harsh shift could be caused by a number of mechanical issues with the transmission or software. It isn’t necessarily related to a problem with the torque converter.
