That and I would likely be car-less (as far as my "fun" car anyway) for the next few months, even if I were to order this month.

I will just have to see, but I do think I will need something with a decent sounding V8 (+) to really be satisfied.

Dunno that would be tempting that 572 though.

You have the best of both worlds right there, save a bit longer and cherish them both. Not sure how much the '73 project will run you, but if you are financially comfortable enough, a little loan can cover the project.

Reminds me of when my dad finally let go of his 1980 C3 Corvette. It was a non-California car registered in California so it had the 350 4-bbl and 3-speed automatic. 40 years and being pretty adamant of keeping it through good and bad despite my mom wanting it gone for the last decade he had it. He sold it for $5000 (more than anybody else would probably buy it for). It was one of the cars that inspired me to get a Camaro as the "V8 bug" bit me in the ass.

Even before the shortage it wasn't easy finding the Camaro you wanted unless you order. Many dealers would just have 1 SS or LT1 on their lots and many times loaded up $$. Even used not a huge selection. At least here in SWFL. Before the shortage the Chevy dealer up the street you would be very lucky if they had an SS or LT1 in stock or ZL1. Usually just the LT model.

Dealers just don't like having Camaros sitting on their lots. Yet the same Chevy Dealer also has a Dodge that's part of it and they always have bunches of Chargers and Challengers in stock in normal times.

zaimer, you've been bouncing this idea around in your mind for a while, and don't feel bad, I'm sure everyone understands—there is a price for every one of us that we'd say yes to. Mine may be a bit higher, but whatever

i imagine that half of us would jump off a bridge if we kept track of actual money spent on our cars. i could take the $3k+ on a camaro sale and still be negative several thousand on the whole. and that's just *this car.

Tough decisions for sure. If it was me I would probably just wait until the market settles down before buying. All these crazy prices though are tempting for sure and if I didn’t like my car so darn much I might pull the trigger also!

The housing market is crazy as well but if you sell where you gonna go and how much are you going to have to pay. Much easier to unload a car and sell high though if you have something else to drive while the market stabilizes. Smart move if you can wait it out and buy at normal prices.
