Is there any way we could create a sticky for these topics? Every single week a new variant of "Will XX void my warranty" and the same answers always follow:

Yes
No
Why would it, it is just XX

Don't tell me what to do, as a general rule.

I was making what I believe to be a legitimate suggestion since so many countless folks can't figure out how to search.

I am all for stickies. Then the first 27 pages would be all stickies and no more new posts. Could get a little non-interactive; which is the reason for forums. But we could try it.

There is, of course, the usual caveat: Any Camaros that have been modified by their owners aren't eligible. "We know when somebody changes their ECM calibration and we know if they changed to a cold-air intake, we can tell all that," Oppenheimer said. "But driving it as you break it in from the dealership, if you have a half-shaft or whatever, it's covered."

hmmm...i thought one of the main focuses of a forum such as this, is to indeed be "interactive" - otherwise, we could just sit there and ask google any questions we may have ...not "telling anyone what to do"...merely SUGGESTING..if you find it bothersome to read and or answer a members question(s) - ignore it.

Oppenheimer? Wow, we have nuclear-powered Camaros! /Sarcasm

If you modify your new car in anyway then the MFG, which provides the warranty may have a potential reason to deny a claim. This can be very subjective issue, with inconsistent results, but yes you are at risk.

We recommend checking with your dealer about your warranty in relation to modifications. Our kit is a pretty simple install, and will bolt on with NO tune or any other modifications required!

Below is the link for Phastek Performance's LIVE install video of our 2017+ ZL1 CAI:

Very good answer and I love this video. It's my car and the 1st time I've actually seen it. LOL

If you have any more CAI questions, I would be glad to help!

It's very clear if it gets to the GM level, but most dealers use common sense and I've never had a problem with a CAI. That being said if I blew my motor and pictures when to GM and they saw it, I can pretty much guarantee you they won't buy me a new engine, nor would I expect it.

I didn't mind modding my 2011 2SS, cai, lt headers, tune, bigger wheels/tires etc. didn't think anything of it......but, now, I am not doing anything to this ZL1, just don't want to risk it. Plus I love her just the way she is.

Bumper to bumper is 3 years but the limited powertrain warranty still goes 5 yrs. The only change is mileage has been reduced from 100,000 to 60,000.

To me the funny thing is the people that say "I will wait until my warranty is up to start modding"...I always ask why. If the motor goes with or without a warranty still on it, your going to eat the bill.
