V6 1LE compared to 1SS 6MT
So, if I have read all the upgrade specs correctly - the 1LE package for the V6 adds all the stuff a 1SS 6MT comes with as standard equipment. So, did I buy the equivalent of the V6 1LE but with an engine upgrade to the LT1? If so the folks out there waiting for the V6 1LE might just consider buying a 1SS 6MT instead. With the pricing deals out there right now you might get the car for equal or less plus get the awesome LT1 engine. Thoughts?

Which V6 1LE? The 1LT or the 2LT?
Also, HUD is standard on 1LE. Same with the NPP. 1LE wheels are forged Aluminum. Standard SS I don't believe are. EDIT: Recaros optional on 1LT 1LE, standard on 2LT 1LE, they're only available on the 1SS if you get the 1LE package. There's also cost of the insurance and the gas mileage differences. You can trick out the interior better on the 2LT 1LE than on a 1SS simply due to trim restrictions. For example, 2LT 1LE can have recaros, plus the heated and ventilated seats and NAV. 1SS non-1LE won't have any of that. Last edited by HumanWiki; 09-19-2016 at 11:58 AM. |

the only way to get HUD on a SS is with 1LE or 2SS. not a stand-alone

Recaros are standard on the SS 1LE as well...not an option. |

But the performance stuff is what interests me - so that's why I bought a 1SS 6MT with NPP and that is what I focused on when I was looking at the V6 !LE specs.

I think at it's entry price point the V6 1LE is a good bargain but as you load it up you might as well get the 1ss. It's no doubt faster on the track.

Clumsily worded, I was trying to say they're only an option if you get the 1SS 1LE and then they come with the package. Then edited some stuff and up and confused myself. Last edited by HumanWiki; 09-19-2016 at 10:59 AM. |

If the SS 1LE ran the lap at 2.54, I would bet money that the 1SS would run 2:55-2:57 on the same track.
171 Torque/120 HP advantage over the V6 1LE is huge.. Also, the 1SS is usually around ~3670 lbs so lighter than the SS 1LE/2SS and will probably be around 120-160 lbs heavier than the V6 1LE. Nevertheless, 3:04 time for the V6 1LE is a great time! I can understand people choosing that over a 1SS for insurance, gas savings, etc. |

On VIR, no way would it be a second behind...I would say 3-4 seconds at least...The V6 1LE with the SS suspension, and better wheels was like 10 seconds behind. That power bump and nothing else, is not going to drop 9 seconds at VIR, not even close...I would say more like 3:00 would be the lap.

That's true, I guess would say 2:57-3:00 for the 1SS
But for the V6 1LE to get 3:04 that's still impressive. Most would say getting a 1SS over a V6 1LE is a no brainer... but I would say that the V6 1LE is still cheaper, cheaper gas, insurance cost so can't go wrong with either platforms. |
