Do detailing, polishing and waxing products expire?
Like the title says. Can car care products get too old?
I realize that I purchased a number of products at a Detail clinic. Just did a search from the thread that the Clinic was announced. It was back in 2008. |

I have found that at times the liquid wax may start to breakdown over a long period of time. The only issue I dealt with was the containers becoming too brittle and crack when you try to squeeze out some of the product.

Different products age differently. If it's volatile, it'll 'go bad' faster. If you let it get hot (>90F) or cold (<32F) you can kill them REALLY quick.
Adams Polishes has a pretty good write up on this topic... http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/170...-a-shelf-life/

I kept a bottle of Klasse Sealant Glaze for about 15 years and it was fine. Other things may tend to dry out though, depending on how you store them. I've taken to keeping my higher-end products in an inside cabinet, rather than in my garage. I've even stored carnauba waxes in vacuum-sealed bags.
