The 1Le package has been very successful for chevy , even back in the late 80s and thru most of the 90s the 1Le package made the Z28 a true track competitor. I doubt they would dump the 1Le for the Z28 , they could make a base Z28 and a Z28/1Le which the base could fall into that $50-$55 k range .

Nope. I mean a 1LS V8. My original post explained that it would be just an LS trim with a V8. No bigger/wider/stickier tires, no upgraded infotainment/extra speakers, no rear wing, no RS lighting. Literally just a 1LS trim as it is, but with a V8. It'd go for $33,495. Right around where the V6 1LE is priced, but for a completely different customer. Then a Z/28 package would be added to it for $7,000. Keep the weight down and price at $40,495, between a 1SS and a 1SS 1LE, but more hardcore than either one. The Z/28 would only add performance options like the ZL1 1LE's thinner rear window, a cheaper version of the ZL1 1LE's aero kit, lightweight wheels, Brembos, and DSSVs. |

The DSSV kit handling kit where the DSSV shocks themselves make up the bulk of the OEM cost, is like $6K already.

Light light light, preferably naturally aspirated otherwise Turbo, 650 foot pounds of torque and 650 horsepower and maybe take a little depending on how much weight they can shave off, wide body, active aerodynamics that actually produce usable downforce, and keep AC in the car, use the truck seats from the Corvette, and either make the spool valve suspension about 5 more adjustable justable, or just keep the Magnetic Ride, and take the back seat out completely as well as the rear deck so you can put a small mattress back in there because I'll probably be sleeping there

But it's back.... New year. A New Hope. Forum member is stripping out his 1LE for ultimate weight reduction. That would be a perfect for a Z/28. Stripped ZL1 1LE with N/A LT1 with 600HP. No Heat. No A/C. No Carpet. No rear seats. 2 Racing buckets like Porsche Cup cars. 400lbs lighter All out track beater.

I can't say I'm part of your "We" ,If there is a 7th gen Z28 i don't want it to be anything like the GT500 . The Z28 was never made to be a straight line car and would not be a competitor for the GT500, leave that to the Zl1/1Le which I'm sure will still be faster around a track. I think the better question is will the Z28 be necessary in the 7th gen. As with the 6th gen the Z28 may just not needed . If there is a 7th gen Z28 it should be built around a AWD Hybrid platform ,its time .
