They're killing it !!! (positively)

The challenger is a good looking car and it does several things really well. Then it continues to get better. it may not be able to turn, but it sure does look cool and haul ass in a straight line !

The Challenger Super Stock looks OK but I would have preferred lightweight 19" wheels in lieu of the 18s, and with a staggered tire setup (i.e., 255/45/19 front and 315/40/19 in the rear) since it is a "drag" car. The Redeye Charger and Redeye Challenger also look pretty great (except for straight on from the back). But they are not really quick for 800 hp cars, so I would say they not only don't turn back and forth well, they don't even drag strip well! 4500+ lbs will do that to you.

A thin no sidewall tire won't hook as well as the more cushy tire. That's why the 18's. When you get down to the high 1.30's 60' wise your 4300lb car is no slouch.

You missed the part where I said 315/40/19 in the rear. Same sidewall and width as the Super Stock, but a 1" taller tire - the larger diameter tire will hook even better (longer contact patch front to back). The narrower tire was for the front only. Sort of a pseudo skinny (compared to the 315s) but not really skinny.

I run 15" wheels on my car for a reason. While the taller tire is desirable for footprint length it has nothing to do with the rim. I can put tall tires on a 15" wheel but still have sidewall to work with. I'm not referring to tire width. Not being condescending at all. Even the badass Copo Camaro uses a 15" wheel. I'm simply stating that the 18 is a better drag wheel than a 19. Skinnies up front are a given for most drag cars.

Challenger is most likely being discontinued as well. Their parent company Fiat-Peugeot (or whatever they're doing to call it) has already cancelled the next gen Challenger. And the fuel economy and emissions on the Hemi mean it won't be legal for long. They'd need to develop a new engine.

The Hellcat motor is basically done. I can't recall if 2020 is the last model year or 2021 (maybe 2022?) simply because there is NO WAY for them to meet the EPA standards that are coming with that motor. They are not putting any more into that motor because they won't be able to recoup their investment.

The 'regular' Hemi might get a little more life, but I don't know that for certain, or exactly how much longer it might go.

Below is the 2nd source I've seen that mentions the Durango Hellcat will be available only in 2021 due to evaporative emissions requirements that won't work in the Durango beyond that timeframe. I haven't seen the same mentions for the Charger or Challengers. I hope the Hellcat Chargers and Challengers live on past 2021!

Re read the tirespec's on the super stock Challenger.

The current administration has been rolling back many rules including CAFE standards. If they / he is still in office I would suspect further regulation rollbacks. If not better buy the performance products of your choice now.

Challengers? Chargers? I love them both. Fiat is putting lipstick on a pig and calling it new. But people seem to like that.

lol

The Dodge Charger was originally a two door coupe. They brought it back from the dead and changed it to a four door sedan so they could increase the potential market.

Well, the market sucked it up AND pushed back, hence why we now have the Challenger as well.
