I'm confused on what the hell this is!

I had some brake work done a bit ago and just look at my car closely. What is going on? What are the little wheels on my caliper? On both front. I don't think I have ever seen anything like this before. Any help is appreciated!!! Thanks!!!

Anyone with these, we call them roller skates. They are on there for balance I believe. If you and when you change your brake pads you don't have to put the same kind of OEM pads on.

When I put new ceramic pads on mine I ordered they didn't come wirh the rollers. I got ahold of where I bought them after some searching. Found out I didn't need the skates. And I have never had a problem with my brakes. Hitting 100MPH and stopping very quick with no problems.

The detail says "steel strands to provide strength and conduct heat away from the
rotor's surface"

They're heatsinks...

Hmmmm interesting! I didn't ask for them and I don't think I have ever seen them before. I would think it would be safe to assume that you would get identical replacement parts! Thank you for the info!!!

They are not for balance nor are they heatsinks....

The actual reason for the "roller skates" was an attempt to reduce the noise that the OEM Brembo pads are known for.

Relax those are actually there to reduce braking noise.

The purpose of them are as others have stated, they are to reduce noise and also to help with vibration. However I do not think they work. Just my opinion.

That's standard issue on later year brake pads.

I've got them. They work. I'd say they're worth at least 15hp lol

Before the roller skates, they did this. Wheel weights.
Is this what I think it is?
