BLACKED OUT TAILS.

Good morning all, was wondering if any of you have used this tail light black out kit from Phastek, seems like the pieces are not cut big enough to cover the lenses and also seem like they are too thick to be film like the ones from big worm graphics I saw, I did separate the pieces but for some reason they just don't seem right.Advice ?? Thanks.

Same. I ordered this kit a year ago and every piece was cut too small. I emailed them and they offered a refund with no restocking fee.

I dropped the coin on a new set of OEM tinted tail lights from ebay and sold my stockers. Offered $165 and sold mine for $50. Couldnt be happier. Not cheap but having a sexy ass never is.

Well I can't do the tail light replacement, I have the technostalgia's in there, love them. I called the expel company that makes the black out kit and they said that is the way they have been made for years, called Phastek and talked to them, they installed bunches of them at their shop and they told me that they are a bit smaller than the lenses because it is ILLEGAL to cover the entire tail light lens. I have heard this before when I was going to tint my mustang tails years ago. You LEO's out there should be able to vouch for this I'm sure. ut they said that people usually just line it up at the top, or the bottom or just center the tint on the lens, so gonna install them tomorrow...

Or you can get some perforated vinyl off Amazon and apply it. Then, if you don't like it, you can take it off without any damage. Technically, you might even get away of saying the tint is not covering the whole tail light because it's perforated. Even the reflector strip on the tail light is visible at night. It does darken the lights but not to where they're unsafe.

You can special order a larger pattern thru Big Worm Graphix, same price as regular. It is large enough to cover the complete tail light. You will have to remove the trim rings to install them. Email me (bigworm90@gmail.com) after you order and I will be sure to send out the larger pattern.
https://www.bigwormgraphix.com/2010-...erse-only.html

Our regular pattern fits 95% of cars very well without removing the trim rings. The trim rings vary in size a small amount from car to car, so what fits one car may be too big or too small on another car.

Well guys, got down to installing these tint pieces on the Camaro, removed the trim rings to do it and they covered up just about 99.999999 percent of the lens. What the problem was is the backing on them being thick to protect them, wouldn't letyou bend them, after removing that and applying them and conforming them to the curve of the lens, they fit perfectly !! Now I am happy...Thanks to all.Have a great and safe 4th of July !!
