New 2014 ZL1 "Project Efficiency"

Bought a new 2014 ZL1 yesterday. Only option was the carbon fiber hood. Six speed manual. I'm so glad I started with a ZL1 and not an SS 1LE. An SS would feel so slow, lol. I plan on doing Apex springs right off the bat. Along with a Rotofab intake. Then I will work on maximizing the intercooler efficiency to keep the IAT's in check and keep timing from being pulled. Larger reservoir and bigger heat exchanger. Very important since I live in Phoenix. I'm also thinking of doing catless JBA mid pipes and an x-pipe and just living with the cat efficiency code. Porting the throttlebody, snout, and blower are also planned. I will do those one at a time as I don't plan on tuning the car as I want to keep my warranty. So I will need to do each change and monitor injector duty cycle with my HP Tuners to ensure I don't max them out. Car will also be getting wrapped Avery matte metallic purple. The carbon fiber of the hood will stay visible. It will also be de-badged except for the ZL1 badges.

Joe of Cordes Performance has some BMR 1" lower springs in stock. I'm just going to have them put on there. CPR does all the work on my vehicles. My Rotofab will be here Tuesday.

Thanks! I should have taken my Elite catch can off my C6 before I left it at the dealer. Oh well. Time to order another one.

What dealership did you buy this from?
I ask because I'm originally from Phoenix, just relocated for business.

Midway. Same place I bought my C6 from. They are kind of douchey, but they gave me a lot for my trade in. They probably thought they could offset it with selling me add-ons. That doesn't work on me. Made them take off the charges for that Zaktek crap and told them to pound sand on an additional warranty. It's a new car for goodness sake. I'm not dropping $3k-$5k on an additional aftermarket warranty. The only extras I paid for are window tint at $300. I showed up after having worked all night. I was not in the mood for games.

Got my Rotofab last night. I'm seeing 6* of KR in 4th gear. I'm not amused with this. Is that normal on a stock tune? 91 octane here in Az. It's making it real hard not to tune it since I don't like running any KR in my tunes.

Knock Retard. The knock sensors pick up a knock event and pull timing for it.

I also found out the Lingenfelter reservoir is made by Rotofab. So I called Rotofab. They are sending me a reservoir kit for $135. You just need to go to the auto parts store for some hose. Other than that it comes with everything else.

Good deal. I also bought the tank only and called LPE for the part number to the hose.
