Did you put an aftermarket cam and springs in with the stock L99 lifters? If so, what was the lift on the cam and what was your redline set at? I thought you couldn't safely rev the L99 lifters past 6400, and it isn't really worth a cam swap if you aren't going to rev past 6400??

Who's cammed ?

Custom grind 3 bolt Comp cam, Maggie w/OD cogs and a 3.6" pulley, patriot gold dual coil springs and 63k very "spirited" miles. I've run Mobile 1 since day one except the break in period for the cam and that was royal purple, then back to Mobile 1.

CMS Custom grind Comp Cam ... 3 bolt, 3.5" pulley. Running Amsoil Z-Rod. Cams and lifters like zinc for a barrier between metals. Modern oils don't include it because it's non cat-friendly. If you're cat delete, look for a synthetic oil that has zinc.

The guys who built my motor (Pfaff Engines) run it in all of their marine racing engines and sand rails. They've had a lot of success with it in big hp/hard condition motors.

PLUS ... when you drain the oil, you can rub it on your face to avoid sunburn ... or drink it and get rid of a head cold or flu. Zinc ... the all-purpose mineral!

Hey Rick, you run 15w50? Is that on a stock oil pump?

Dominator 2X cam from rapid motorsports here. I love my cam! Huge jump in power (70+rwhp with six degrees less total timing), nice idle sound, and may boost leveled out. My TVS use to start around 7.5psi and climb to abt 9.5 at redline...now it stays at 7.5psi all the way to redline.

Tsp 231/236 cam with ecs kit
Been running the cam for 8k and just threw the charger on last month. It's my daily driver. I picked ecs cause since I drive it everyday I didn't want the crazy low end torque. It drives normal at low rpms and hauls after 3000.

Why would you NOT want that crazy low-end torque? To each his own, I guess. My Maggie drives like stock if I'm easy on the throttle. It was even more fun with 4.10 gears (until they broke, haha!) and mine's a daily driver also.

Because its easier to hook and easier on the drivetrain.

Performance and easy usually do not mix. Violent power properly harnessed equals quickness. With more power comes more wear. There are plenty of smart ways to mitigate potential issues.
