I had a V8 Camaro for my first car when I was 16 and I don't see anything wrong with young Camaro owners, I never crashed mine and the car had lots of power, I am all for you young Camaro enthusiasts, good luck to you.

We all know this forum's rule about street racing stories. Is your point not to flame young people for wanting fast cars? Just curious, I'm trying to understand what you're trying to get across..

To be fair, you say that now, but when you have 400 horses at your disposal, a cute girl and/or a friend in the car, you're going to want to show off. This is where being young usually is a curse. The old have nothing to prove to their ... wife? The young always want to prove themselves.

Your a 15 year old with a drinking reference in your sig line. You are still 6 years from the legal drinking age and 3 years from voting. You are going to get "advice" you don't agree with. Hell, most of us of who have been married or are married still get "advice" we don't agree with, men and women included. My boss even has the nerve to give me "advice". He actually thinks I should have kept my Escape Hybrid. Age will not make this go away. The V8's crowd has "advice" for the V6 crowd and it goes on and on.

All I know is that when I was 18, I had a 3.8 liter V6 Camaro, built in 1996 and putting down no more than 200hp, probably less. I ended up spinning this car out bein dumb in the rain, and jumped a curb at about 45. Destroyed my Weld Racing wheels, shot my suspension to sh_t, and I won't even mention the alignment. Eventually the car ran again, but it was no easy (or cheap) task, and had I hit the telephone pole or the road sign that were there (I came about 3 inches from both as I spun over the curb) the car would've been totaled, and I would've been seriously hurt. Luckily this was late at night, or others on the road would've been hurt too, because I spun into three different lanes wrestling the wheel.

I'm just saying there's no substitute for experience.

That said, there's only one way to GET experience, so- make your own decisions. Just remember that when you're on the road, your choices affect everyone else that's on the road with you...

^ This.....just be careful in whatever you decide to buy.............I hope you get a Camaro , I just hope you realize the responsability that comes with owning one , these cars are fast and can be dangerous but at the same time, owning one can be one of the best things to ever happen to you , good luck in your quest.
