QuickJack question
Looking to get a quickjack. Was wondering which model is working for you guys and if theres any benefits of getting the extended height one. Also will i need to get lift pads?
Where do you guys buy the quickjack? From their own website or other sources? |

If you want to use factory lift points you MUST get 5000EXT/7000EXT/6000SLX.
I recently bought 7000EXT and had to move my jack pads inwards as far as they could go to fit in on the EXT model.

5000 I use the factory lift points with no extensions, recently been up down 15 times. Solid as a rock. Front lift point and rear lift point closest to the front. Numerous people use these lift points with rock solid results.

I recently bought one to use on my 5th gen ZL1 convertible.
Quickjacks web site asks you to take a few measurements to decide which model is for you. When I measured the distance between the outward edges of my lift points, the BL-5000slx came up about 1 inch shy of spanning that distance. I have no doubt that it'd still be close enough to work, but I decided to opt for the longer version, the BL-5000ext. The quickjacks ship with 2 sets of rubber lift blocks, one set a bit taller. I have heard stories in the past with the quickjacks arriving with shipping damage. I ordered mine straight from Bendpack. They came in perfect condition with the ramps sandwiched between two pieces of plywood and Styrofoam. for those cars (like mine) that have lifting points where you lift front the rocker pinch welds, there are several companies that sell jacking pads that fit the pinch welds. Some of the lift pads are meant to fit the pinch welds and hold on with magnets, other lift blocks are machined blocks made of aluminum that attach with set screws and are meant to stay attached permanently. |

Same here, I even went as far as getting the extensions and have never used or needed them. OP the EXT is longer and not a higher lift.

Not sure if SS is different than ZL1, but using the cutouts in the rocker panel plastic as the indicator to where the factory lift points are the EXT barely makes it if you are using jack pads

That's why you should make all the measurements Quickjack suggests , to make SURE the model you pick will work for YOUR car.

I have the 7000 EXT and no complaints ! Totally worth their weight in gold.
Speaking of weight, they are heavy. I’d say close to 90 pounds or so and very awkward to carry. Luckily they have wheels on one end and you can roll them around your garage really easily. They are easy to store and take up very little room if you stand them up in a corner and lean them against the wall.

7000lb ext version for me. I can use them on my truck as well. With the ext version they barely reach my jack pads.

My BL-5000ext weigh 80 pounds per side. And yes they have casters on one end to help move them about.
When you maneuver them to the side of the car, they supply handles to help you move them sideways to get them in position. For storage they sell wall hanging brackets. Or, if you have enough ground clearance under your car, you 'might' be able to slide the two ramps side by side and fit them under your car when not in use. NOTE: you CANNOT drive your car onto/over the ramps themselves. You'd have to fit them between the wheels so the wheels straddle the ramps. |

5000SLX has worked fine for me. I have the extensions as well and the extra 1-1.5" of lift could be nice depending on what you're doing under the car but the extra 6" of lift point spread isn't needed. Purchased when they were on sale at Costco.
