You can get the ext extention that sit in the slx. Basically makes slx the ext with flexibility to work on smaller cars.

Yea but i would think if we are investing in a lift system, it should be able to lift every car we have. I have a 1500 CC 4x4. The 5k doesnt seem to fit that bill.

Correct.. it does not. The 4x4 GM full-size trucks have a curb weight that is in excess of 5000 lbs. For me, though, it isn't a limiting factor because A) the vehicle already has more clearance under it than the other vehicles I do maintenance on and B) a product like the Quick Jack isn't going to lift the vehicle "as far" as what I will get as a benefit on the others. So, continuing to use floor jacks for my Silverado isn't a big deal overall.

I could buy the 5000SLX bundle from Costco, and get the pinch-weld pads and hangar brackets, at a price that's lower than buying direct from the manufacturer. BUT... I would still need to buy the extenders. And, with freight, that makes the total cost of the solution MORE expensive than just buying the EXT model outright from QJ directly (I couldn't care less about the accessories included in the Costco bundle).

I'm more irritated that these lifts are so pointedly built to fit very specific wheelbases and you may well end up needing a different one for each car in your garage. Might just as well put in a four-point lift.

Bendpak and others have something more suited to your needs.

I have a 5000 and wish I got the 7000, but the 7000 was not available at costco at the time. I use the 5000 for everything and its great. Get the extenders if you can.

I have a 4X4 Tacoma and it lifts it, but I wish I had the 7000

Can you store this lift under the car? Would it be hard to pull into the garage with it on the floor?

They would be better served to be 'hung' on the wall... They sell hangers for them for just that purpose.

Yes. I've not tried this with my Camaro, but I stored them under my sedan for a week. I slid them to the middle of where the car parks and drove over them.

I was pretty paranoid about running them over but never even got close.

Ideally, you can hang them using their Wall Hangers, and you should shop around. Home Depot sells them for less than QJ:

Yes they are only a couple feet wide when pushed together, they ship with a hook like tool for sliding them around.

I actually did a video on it, just not posted yet as I released the Mightymouse review today, but I love mine and store them on the floor. I just push them together and drive straight it. I have multiple cars in the family and they even fit between the wheels of the honda civic. I just leave mine on the ground.

Hadn't really thought about that aspect, but great point that it will accommodate narrower width vehicles. when pushed together.
