ECM flash

Has anyone ever had a chevrolet dealer re-flash the ECM to get rid of the bog/stutter when leaving a stop light.

I don't believe there is any ECM update for this. It was explained by Al O in the following thread.

stumble/bog

Ok, heres the question. I don't care about launching from some street or drag strip. Al, the question is when you pull up to a stop sign and just want to take off nice and smooth.I get an stumble as the clutch engages the engine seems to loose power instead of easily taking off. I've even had it die a couple times. There has to be an issue with the ECM or something that is cutting back power instead of slightly increasing the fuel/timing as the car engages. I have tried a different throttle body which made no difference.

I just want to say that my issue is completely related to takeoffs. I don’t launch the car so I’m not worried if it bogs down when dumping the clutch. It was difficult to decide how much gas/clutch to use when taking off. Often, I would give it too much gas because I didn’t want the car to stall. I’m sure that most of you with this issue have done the same thing. After the ECM update, the car is noticeably smoother. I don’t have to use as much gas to get it going and the car doesn’t jump nearly as much when the clutch engages. I can’t say that 100% of the bog is gone. I’m so used to giving it a lot of gas due to the bogging issue so it may take time to adjust. Overall, I don’t have to leave my foot on the clutch as long or give it a ton of gas for takeoffs. I strongly recommend you guys to bring your cars in for this ECM software update

Side note: I had to put my stock air box on for the warranty work so it might improve even more once I put the roto-fab back on the car.

They didn’t put a number on the service sheet. It says “ECM update”

A after market tune will fix it but the warranty is gone if you do that. A ported TB helps. Or a pedal controller. I find the lag much less on my 2021 LT1 than i did on my 2019 C7.

I think that was the recall for the battery cable in the engine bay. They will probably take care of this when you bring your car in

It might be for both but Im not sure. I think most people who have this issue own a manual
