Mustang Mach E
They just revealed the all electric Mach E and a GT also. What a piece of shit. Ford really screwed up now and made another Edsel.

Why is it a piece of shit? It's an electric SUV, and by the sound of performance offering, a decent one at that. What Ford screwed up is naming it a Mustang, because it clearly isn't that.

Should have called it a Pinto-E.

This thing is complete slap in the face to Mustang Machs of the past. I will never have one. That being said, I could see outselling the Volt. LOL. Women will be all over it.

If you think you're mad now, wait until the Mach-E Shelby is released.

Ha. So, I got the Ford survey they send out after you buy a new car about a month after I bought my R. Most the questions were about electric cars and if I'd be or anyone I know would be interested. I answered EVERYTHING with a resounding NO, NONE, NOTTA, STRONGLY DISAGREE, etc etc. Now they pull this shit. They don't F'n listen. They all have their shitty agendas...

They just need to make sure they keep offering the ICE performance cars too, and stop whoring out the names like Mach and Shelby(I'm wondering if that's a BS rumor though).

WE have to get used to it. This IS the future. Still I will be keeping my LT1 at least until I can no longer drive it one way or another.

I agree we have to get used to it. Electric vehicles are the future but I hope performance cars keep the ICE option.
Attaching the Mustang name to this crossover thing is a huge slap in the face to owners of the real Mustang. Many of whom have supported the brand for years. It caters to those that want a Mustang but are unwilling to sacrifice a higher driving position and cargo space. The Mach E is like a hand job, it's not what you really want but you'll take one. The next SUV, CUV or POS that comes out with the Mustang name attached to it should be called the Ford Mustang Hand Job. Or HJ for short. |

Saw an article the other day about the new tesla roadster doing a 1.1s 0 to 60... that would probably be uncomfortable.

Seems like a pretty good car to me. After driving a couple of friend's Teslas, it's pretty clear that an electric car is ideal for commuting. As charging/battery technology continues to improve they will only get better and become a good only car option for many people.
As far as naming goes, I see it as a bold move and we'll see how it pays off. They needed something to grab attention, headlines, and it needed to carry some weight with it if they want to take on Tesla, and this does exactly that. If they called it the new Edge, or whatever, it wouldn't get near the attention. I don't see many people not buying a Mustang because this is also called a Mustang. If it fails it will just go down as that weird thing they did 20 years ago. The Mustang survived the Mustang II afterall.
