I've had mine off twice now and may pull it off a third and final time.... First time I hit a deer and the fresh paint from repairs needed to cure so I went a few weeks with no wrap. Second time was because the aforementioned "repair wrap" was done horribly and with the thinnest wrap I've seen resulting in chips through the vinyl less than 24 hours after picking it up. Had it redone in 3m 1080 satin black and that one stood up a bit better but already has a stone chip right through to the paint less than a month and a half later. I dont know what's wrong, the factory wrap held up very well and I thought that's what the 3m 1080 would do for me. I think I may try Stek Dynomatt PPF and if that doesn't work then I will just leave it off altogether. Back on topic, I didn't love it without the hood wrapped. IMO it needs the wrap unless it is a black car because it gives it more a more aggressive look and definitely sets it apart from the crowd.

That's kind of the reason I'm contemplating a Mosaic Black 1LE, to negate the whole hood wrap issue.

Don't get me wrong, I like the flat black hood treatment, I use to paint the hoods on my Hot wheels and models I use to build back in the '70's flat black like the original Trans Am race cars would be painted.

I just want a car to blend in a little more, look a little more stealth.

The 1LE is a 1LE because of the performance parts and the performance of the car not because of a sticker over a painted hood. That just seems cheap to me. The whole idea of a flat black hood is have an unpainted and lighter hood. Painting it and covering the paint up seems silly to me.
