Didn't know about the Island Motorsport Circuit! Only track I knew of close in Canada was Area 27. Hope your first track day goes well!

My friend (X25) and I attended an Instructor Training event at ORP (Oregon Raceway Park) yesterday.

There were a couple Gen5 Z28s at the event also but didn't get a chance to lap with them and see how my car would stand against those. Since the training was taking place for full day, nobody really could get any clean lap time. With that said, it was still fun and a good opportunity to see how the car feels WOW, this car feels great and definitely track ready with just a little bit of understeer. Tons of power, grip everywhere and the breaking power! The brakes on any car I've ever owned/built/tracked (thanks to ST43s ).. PERIOD!! Tire temps were about 37-38 after a few hot laps (ambient temps were about 55) so I am almost sure in a hot day it would be very easy to overheat them. Using R comps should take care of that and also let me brake late.

Here are some pictures and a video from that day:

.

X25's (NA Build) Miata Club Edition.

Fire extinguisher use practice which I didn't want to partake

I used Race Render to create a split screen video and was using RaceChrono along with PDR. Akron headrest and Go Pro bar mount

This is the cleanest/least traffic lap that I had a chance to push the car a little bit:

I received my ZL1addons lift points today so I could put it on the jack stands soon after. I was finally able to jack the car properly and left the jacks on the side for added safety. The wheel droop is huge so it seems like my 12" Wheel cribs will be useless as I will never be able to jack that high anyways.

I wanted to see if the endlinks were the cause of the clunking noise that I started hearing after my first event (as other members mentioned) and noticed the passenger side end link (upper connection) was loose. I tightened that nut and torqued it to 38 lb/ft and the noise was gone

I will call the dealership and cancel my appointment tomorrow.

UPDATES:

I took the tires and wheels to our local Discount Tire store to have them mounted and balanced. They also installed the TPMS sensors.

Can you tell which one is the wider? ( both 305/30/19 but the one on the left is a 11" wheel vs a 10.5" on the right)

took another look for the front fitment with the tires mounted. Again, this is with 5mm spacer and -2.2 camber up front. The fitment would be a lot easier with street alignment and even with 3mm spacer.

As you can see the strut arm bottom side is a bit too close and some grinding will hopefully fix that

and here are some pictures with them on the car .. Front poke was minimal compared to rear. Rear is also not too bad but they stick out about 18mm.

Soon to be installed: C7 Z06 fender flares

After I drove around the block, as I suspected, I had slight rubbing on the inner wheel so I decided to come back and wait for the extended wheel studs install and grinding. I also stacked 3mm and 5mm spacer to see if the 3mm grinding on that closer edge would give enough space and it looks it will fix my issue. Worst case scenario I will still have it grinded and add 7mm spacer instead since I am already going with longer studs

If my mechanic tells me I can get away with more camber after the grinding, I will go ahead and change the camber to -2.5 upfront (from -2.2) since Trofeo R and NT01 tires work better with more camber up front and I already lose some of that camber due the fact that I have strut setup instead of a double wishbone

I don't suppose you think 295/30R19 MICHELIN PSS would fit in the fronts?

They do t make a 285/30R19...

Should work with a 295/30/19, 295/35/19 however would definitely rub.

So no break in before tracking - just curious?

I've found it extremely difficult to keep it under 4K RPM just tootin around town. Everyone wants to race and it's fun to get it up to speed on the highway. I think I've had it at 4500 a couple times for short pulls, checking oil - no issues so far, still full at 800 miles.
