Winter wheel/tire setup

I've been looking at availability of all season tires and am not able to find anything in ZL1 and SS 1LE size. No interest in driving in snow, but just in colder and dry conditions. Any suggestions? Possible to fit smaller wheels/tires on these cars to have more choices for a winter setup?

I run Bridgestone RE980AS in 295/30/20 and 305/30/20. Works great, 2 seasons no complaints.

I'm in Denver thinking the same way and put PS4S on it 305/325ZR30-19. Any sunny afternoon with no ice and temps above 30F is good for a shot around the freeways

You can deviate on OE size wheels with a 275/35 or 285/35 F/R respectively. For cold and dry cnditions you can go Mich A/S 3+ or the Comp2 A/S+, those are two great High perf A/S tires. I ran the previous Gen Comp2 A/S on the Mustang and the Camaro and was really happy. I needed a little more snow capability though so I stepped up to the PA4 performance winter tire than an A/S.

I run 265/40/19 square PA4 N-Spec. 7mm spacers up front. 2 seasons, no issues, car does great on packed snow. A little less great when it's soft and slushy, but never came close to getting it stuck. Works great on cold, dry pavement too... nice ride, decent grip, FAR more predictable and safe vs summer tires when it's cold.

Numerous threads on this, but the RE980AS and Michelin PS4 AS (brand new tire) are the only AS tires available in 305/30-20. Both have a 295/30-20 that works on the front.

At the moment, the Michelin appears to be out of stock.

2 years ago, in November, I got the last two 305 'Stones in the country when I bought mine... not sure about availability this year.

The 'Stones are a decent street tire, and are perfect for cold/dry. Performance is not great for straight line acceleration, but a ZL1 will blow off just about any tire anyway. Around corners they have plenty of grip to achieve imprudent speeds on our mountain roads. I run ours year 'round on the street, and have a dedicated wheel/tire set for the track.

I plan to try the Michelins when the time comes, which will probably be next Spring.

Quick question -

For a 2018 ZL1 1LE - Can you run 2018 Camaro SS wheels or any winter wheels that fit a Camaro SS 1LE from tire rack? (Will they clear the brake calipers?). If so, there are PILOT ALPIN PA4.

Has anyone done this?
