If you ask me, cams are worthless unless you're forced induction. It is not a good performance value at all unless the plan is ultimately to go forced induction. If you plan to get a C7 Z06 then save your money and don't even bother modding the GT.

Yea I was just referring to what you have to do with regards to the hood for the CJ.

Usually cams on a coyote aren't very "cost effective" relatively speaking, however I'm a big fan of NA power and recognize you'll have to pay more $ per hp and I'm ok with that. I think that'll be a badass setup if you go that route. If I wasn't going heads cam NA power on the ss I would have done it on the 5.0, but two NA cars seemed redundant so I went FI on the 5.0. Generally speaking the LT1 is the better NA engine and the 5.0 does better with boost imo so I'm happy.

I like your plans on a c7 z, badass out of the box and the lt4 has a lot of easily tapped potential if you go the modding route there as well.

Cams are not worthless from a performance perspective, but I agree they may not be a great value since they are so expensive (have to buy 4 instead of 1). But, they're good for a pretty decent amount of extra power. I don't really want to go FI on my Mustang. I have a lot of time to decide though, since IF I go to that level of mods (cams/E85/LTs) on the Mustang, it will be at least 3 years from now. The other side of the coin is, IF I upgrade to a C7 Z06, that will happen before then.

My only hold up with upgrading to a C7 Z06 is I have 3 kids and I enjoy taking them all in my Mustang pretty regularly.

One of the reasons I bought the ZLE. Expect some battles if you get the C7.

Dealers are asking for 60K for Mach 1's(non-track package). Ford marketing geniuses have done their work to convince the market the Mustang is a premium offering that warrants a premium price tag. Kind of like how Apple does it.

...that legendary reality distortion field that only a few can project successfully. Jobs, Musk and to a lesser extent, Gates/Ballmer come to mind.

I can stand all of them but Musk, lol, nor his fanboys. Especially when they try convincing me that Teslas are the best sports cars.

give it 6 months. Worst case Nov/Dec 2021 they'll be bought for 8-11% off MSRP and might even have incentives to drop it to 15% off.
Hell a GT500 with painted stripes no less was sold at Kerry Ford Ohio last week for 6% BELOW (the stupid, crazy high) MSRP.

At 20% off MSRP I am still not certain I would buy one. That put's it right where almost anyone could buy a 1SS 1LE for, around $42K/$43K.

Nice looking car, love that they put the Tremec in too. If they are available near that price I would certainly test drive one, but I'm not sure what content it has that would warrant spending more than I would on a SS 1LE. "Mach 1" badge isn't worth anything to me, just a car in the end of the day.

I didn't think they had even started building the 21s yet. Hell B&P on Fords site still just shows 2020 lol

I will never forget seeing the 2013 GT500 on the showroom for 30K over...

When I went back to pick up my GT, it was gone. Owner said someone bought it.

They all do it.

You have to buy a GT350 to compete with the 1LE. The Mach 1 should also do it, but again you have to spend more on a Mustang to compete with the Camaro.

If you really want to get a 2021 Mustang GT, I would just go for a left over 2020 GT.

Heck lately around me there seems to be a glut of lightly used 2018, 2019 Mustangs under 25k miles and some of the prices have been pretty decent and not much difference than a new one.

I bought my 2016 SS back in Sept because it was a good deal and at the time there wasn't a lot of used Mustangs. I was considering the Mustang but glad I went with the SS. thing has more torque!

But if you really want a Mustang I would seriously consider a 18 or 19 used. As for me, handling isn't a huge concern. I didn't buy my SS for handling. I bought it for a straight line car. These cars are muscle cars. I personally wouldn't pay tons extra to have better suspension and handling.

If you really do want a Mustang though then I'd get a used base model OR low end Premium and just mod it and make it faster.

I can't see spending 50k on a Mustang GT or Camaro SS. When I got my SS I would have taken a bare bones one with just an auto transmission if there was one at a great price.
