Gravedigger differential question

Where do I find out more about this rear end. It was made from a gen 5 rear end to fit a gen 6 car. Anyone know about these parts?

Some explanation. I would like to change the rear gear in my car and there does not seem to be anything available for the gen6 cars. I stumbled on this Gravedigger thing and thought maybe it might be a solution. Might be cost prohibitive. I would like to put a 3:42 or 45 in place of 2:77s. It would still be OK for the street and way better for the drag strip.

My car is pretty much stock. Tires, axle back exhaust, 92 mm throt body, and some tune which did nothing.

He's talking about 60' times at the drag strip. You'll be wasting money changing gears in my opinion.

He is saying you are looking in the wrong area to go faster. Plenty of other things to consider instead of gears. The 5th gen also had a A6 trans...it's gearing was not nearly as aggressive as the A8.

You are probably rite. The final drive ratio would be way deep.

The Grave Digger is the 5th gen ZL1 diff and it is a heavy beast. I could barely lift one.
:( And I am not sure if there are any other gears besides the stock ones. 3.23 and 3.73. That's it I think. But compared to aftermarket diffs they are a good deal but sort of useless.

OP you do not need a stronger diff. And not many useful gear choices for CA6 Camaros.

Smaller diameter wheels artificially changes gear ratio
17" racestars would probably give you the feel you're looking for

I decided a couple of weeks ago that a gear change is not the way to go. I am now looking at intake manifold and E85. Thanks to all for the input.

Smart. I would go ported stock IM. Don't waste your $$ on a MSD unless you are going all out FBO. The tuners can help you figure out if maybe a larger TB would Also be a good move for you. A ported stock TB can't hurt but not much if any gain there.

They will also push you towards LTs. I did that on my 2016 SS. But I will avoid that on my LT1. It sounds too good right now to spend all those $$ and ruin the sound and only pick up 15 or so HPs.

But even with your plan you will feel the difference for sure. I did the E85 on my 16 but is PIA to keep up the E content. But having a good percentage will give you Camaro an extra kick.
