i guess im missing the point of this thread. the least aggressive exhaust is the factory setup.

you can start the oil and tire threads whenever you're ready. there is no shortage of subjective answers for those, either.

AWE Touring sounds the best out of the 4 cat backs I have had.

Got the S-type... zero complaints. Ultimate factor was AWE charges 800 for the rest of the catback and Bkrla can be found for about 500. So I wasn't going to save $30 on the axleback just to spend $300 later if I were to upgrade. Also got a hat from Borla instead of a lollipop.

Joe, did you do just the S-Type axle back? Or the axle back with the resonators? How's the volume compared to the stock non-NPP?

I'm in the same situation, and considering the same options as you. I want the better tone, but only a modest amount more volume, so I'm curious.

Sounds like he got just the non NPP axle back. I got the same. I wanted more tone but nothing on the loud side. S-type will definitely fit that bill. It just sounds mean and will bark when you get on it but is more deep rumbly than loud. I don’t like loud and I find the s-type really nice.

If S-type is too loud you’re better off keeping stock non NPP bc then I think what you really want is a very muted exhaust.

Thanks, Staves. Your description sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. Based on Youtube videos, the S-Type has the sound I want. It's just hard to judge volume based on those videos. The non-NPP is too quiet. I just want to be careful not to go too far to the other extreme. Thanks for your input. That helps.

S-type non NPP is loud on startup since you can’t change volumes. But it mellows out after. Actually the cold start sounds amazing.
I couldn’t do the stock non-npp. It was nearly silent.

Hey, just wanted to say "thanks" to Staves and JitteryJoe.

Based on your comments in this thread, I installed the S-Type today. It's exactly what I was hoping for. Solid, deep tone. Louder than stock, but easy to keep subtle in town if you stay off the throttle. Sounds fantastic when you get on it. And that startup... wow.

I appreciate your comments. They got me to finally make a decision, and it worked out great.

Is your system the NPP version?

Mine is the non-NPP. That's what pushed me to upgrade. The stock non-NPP is just way too mild.

Where can you find a Borla S for 500?

He meant the rest of the system, not the muffler.
