I, in fact, did this challenge while at work. Not saying it was easy, but I did it. Granted, I didn't take a ladle, I used a large table spoon. lol

Article about the gallon of milk challenge.

http://www.healthkicker.com/69755262...allon-of-milk/

Quote:
The Gallon Challenge (sites here and here, along with many others)*is one of the dumbest, but most entertaining wastes of times invented by bored high school boys with video cameras and waaay too much time one their hands. If you haven't heard of this lovely game, The Gallon Challenge dares you to drink an entire gallon of milk in one sitting in one hour. Many have tried, and*most have failed. Even for those who get it all down, it's coming back up just as quickly. But why? Is it really impossible?

Milk has lactose which is digested in our bodies by an enzyme called lactase. The amount of these enzymes varies person to person, and for those with a very low amount, they are labeled as being lactose intolerant. Even with a high amount of lactase, humans can only digest so much dairy at a time. This is why the gallon challenge is next to impossible- your body just can't break down the lactose quick enough to allow to be digested and stored away, which results in rejection, aka: involuntary puking.

A way to test how much milk you can take in a sitting is try drinking small portions of milk then building up to higher amounts in a short time. When you start feeling gassy or sick, that is your lactose limit. For people with a lower tolerance to dairy, symptoms can be a lot worse than just a quick trip to the bathroom, so knowing your limit is a good way to avoid a night on the toilet.

Have you or anyone you know ever tried The Gallon Challenge?* Could you drink a gallon of a different liquid in under an hour and keep it down?
