Front ZL1 Chin Removal, mod Splitter/Spoiler - Questions

OK, before I start let me say I am looking at this out of necessity. Living in New Mexico where some of the roads are not that great and the City of Albuquerque seems to love to install speedbumps everywhere so I am looking for a solution to give me some extra clearance.

So far I have been able to get away with some minor scrapes underneath but sooner or later I will end up going over something that gonna really screw it up. I know it will cost a fortune to replace it so I am looking for an alternative. Does anyone know if the lower section can be removed with destroying or damaging the assembly.

I know this won't add a great deal of clearance but it should be enough to make a difference. And yes, I know this will reduce the ability to track the car but Im not doing that anyway.

Any and all positive suggestions or pictures if anyone has sucessfully done this.
thanks

If you're talking about the rubber like pieces under the splitter, then yes, you can remove those, but I like having that rub as a warning, over scraping up the bottom of my splitter. If you're asking if the splitter can be removed, then I think that would be a no. Or at least you wouldn't like the look of it and the nose would flop around without some added support, because I'm pretty sure the under side pieces attach to the splitter.

removing the splitter it self will not help you as far as height clearance, the bumper sits practically as low as the bottom of the splitter. look at the below pic and you can see the splitter just wraps around the bumper, it doesn't sit below it.

I think you should keep the rubber thingies on. I scrape them, and they are a good warning when they rub. Try to go over dips and speed bumps at an angle, not head-on, and that helps a lot.

BTW, I took the track school at Sandia Motorsports Park, and it was a total blast. Well worth attending for the instruction and in-car tutoring by the instructors.

ZL1addons has some splitter protection also.
I have the Anderson Composites CF Splitter so I bought the Zl1 package plus extra protectors. A rubber washer will go between everything.

Thanks guys for all the helpful responses,
Nicktechla, wow, I would have never thought it looked like that under that spoiler, thx for the pix. Looks like I will leave the rubber thingy there and add some aftermarket solution. Not much else I can do.
