2023 GM 6.2L may be blowing up

Let's hope the problem stayed at the truck plants:

Those L87 engines are interesting as they’re essentially an LT1 but modified for the trucks and have start-stop as well as DFM which is AFM’s next ‘evolution’ where it can deactivate any and all cylinders instead of our v4 and v8 only mode.

Then there’s the LT6, heard a few had blown in the past. Still a sad sight to see

If its gonna fail looks like it will fail early on under 10k miles. Live life, too many other things to worry about.

I had the 3.0 in my 2020 AT4, wasn't worried about it. It had warranty through 100K miles but it was getting up there. Went with the 5.3 in my new SLT, incentives were stupid good at my dealership. Not worried about it either with full warranty, but I would be a bit hesitant to buy a 5.3 or 6.2 past the 60K mile warranty

There were valvetrain QC issues with the LT6: small tolerance issues in some manufactured parts that is now corrected, from what I know.

In general, you will see failures of things... internet never changes.

Ahh makes sense, definitely agree with you on the internet. For every 1000 people who don’t post without issues, one will post their issue.

I will say for the Camaro at least, our dreaded lifter failure does seem like a slightly greater occurrence (not saying that’s what the L87 had). My 2SS had lifter failure on #7 right after 10k miles. I have powertrain for another 5 years and 100k miles so not a problem for me for the time being though lol
