No More 1LE Orders?

I heard a couple dealerships in my area are no longer taking orders for a 1LE anymore.

My dealership said they wont take them because they know GM will not pick up the orders anymore. Apparently they were told to no longer accept them?

Has anyone else been told this from dealerships yet? Or is it just starting now?

Maybe its just a personal decision here but i know of 2 that are currently not accepting 1LE orders.

Anyone else?

They’ve been on constraint, but otherwise haven’t heard anything. I’ve got two on order and haven’t heard from the dealers, either.

I don't know if that is something with Canadian orders only. 1LE has been on constraint for a while. My 1LE order was finally picked up last week after lingering for six months.

You’re in a cold weather region and 1LE comes with soft compound summer tires. That could have an impact on availability. Anybody seeing similar with ZL1?

I ordered mine at the end of October. The order was just picked up by GM this week with TPW 12/19.

There hasn't been any talk about discontinuing the 1LE package, only build constraints and limited availability of certain subcomponents (e.g. the Recaro seats).

I had an order for a ZL1 1LE 2022 waiting for 10 month and it got cancelled. The dealer didn't get an allocation - or they didn't assign it to my MSRP order.. They said I could reorder as a 2023 (which is $3,800 more expensive) plus a 10k markup..
I said no and bought a 2022 for MSRP out-of-state..

Dealers don't get many ZL1 1LE allocations a year. Most I spoke to said they get 1-2

You should use GM.com to search for incoming 1LEs at dealers and call them. That worked for me..

How was the DMV registration? Did your car come with copper-free brakes or normal?

No, it came with the regular brakes.
The dealer prepared the CA-DMV application forms for me already and the Camaro had temp dealer plates for 45 days or sth. I drove the car 200 miles and tried to smog it. Test failed and the smog guy told me to drive more. So I tried again at around 460 miles ad the car passed smog.
I took the car, the title application forms, purchase papers and the CA smog cert to the DMV. They looked at the car for a VIN verification, gave Kudos for the nice ride and charged me close to 9k in taxes and fees. I payed with a check to avoid credit card fees and they handed out my plates and registration.
Overall pretty easy

I was very worried about the brakes at first, but there is a GM bulletin that actually clarifies the issue with the brakes: GM is not allowed to sell those brakes in CA anymore, but consumers can still register out of state cars.

Ah that makes sense. I think it has to do with the cold now coming here that they wont ship them out this way anymore, and i guess if you ordered it now and it needed to be shipped in the middle of winter there are worries for the tires cracking. So i guess maybe just a constraint thing until clear weather?

I'd ask the helpful dealership folks in the constraints thread (Camaro6.com Forums > Camaro Price | Ordering | Tracking | Dealers > Constraints) or maybe even the order tracking thread at the same location. Even though you're in Canada, many constraints are general and people local to you also chime in time and again.

I was just curious TBH. I pick up my 1LE on Thursday rain yesterday today and tomorrow so Thursday is the nice day and warm enough to take it home!!

My dealer just said they are no longer accepting orders. So i was just curious if it was them specifically or not. i know they have a bunch of SS's and V6s in stock so maybe they just dont want anymore at the dealership.

What does "got canceled" mean? You mean they did not accept the order and when you checked order status it just gave you "canceled" status back? Did you check on their support chat what your order status is with your 6 letter order number?

I'm curious, because I don't want similar to happen to myself as well.
