ZL1 1LE OEM Wing Cost?
Have been thinking about swapping out my standard ZL1 wing for the ZLE CF wing recently. Would like to stick with the OEM, as the car does see a good bit of track/auto-x time. In older threads I see where some were buying OEM 84509432 from GM parts places for around $2,400-$2,800, which I still would have a hard time justifying to spend on a spoiler, but it is a nice piece.
In my searching lately the cheapest I can find is around $4,200... which I think is totally ridiculous. To me, there's no way its worth paying 6% of the total price of the ZLE for just the spoiler! Have the cost of these things gone up that much, or am I missing something?? |

You might want to consider an APR wing. Much cheaper, but also way more functional. http://shop.aprperformance.com/index...product_id=619 |

Yea GM jacked the price way up a year or so ago. Go with an APR.....as mentioned, much cheaper and more downforce.....and it’s adjustable.

OP, may want to check this out if you haven't already: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=525534
I haven't looked into it at all but if I had to guess it could be Pratt & Miller. I don't think GM makes any of the Carbon Fiber on any of the vehicles/trim/interior/etc., they outsource it to a couple spots in the states, mostly in Michigan. |

Thanks for all the replies and info. I've seen RSFR's install video and have considered the APR wing for its functionality, just prefer the look of the OEM. I have stayed away from the aftermarket replicas as I don't really trust the fit/finish or to hold up at high speeds.
Guess my best bet is to keep searching and get lucky to find a good used OEM one or go with APR. |
