Find the part number and buy on eBay. always at least 1/3 the price of others. I just bought sensors for my now totaled 1le for $111.48. Copy and paste this link in eBay:

NEW OEM ACDelco Cadillac Chevy TPMS Sensor 13598787 433MHz MRXAG6SP4 Free Ship

Just be aware that the batteries cannot be replaced. Is there any way to tell how old the parts are that you buy at a deep discount on eBay?

That's true. eBay can be sketchy sometimes!

I just looked at the unopened packages of the 4 I bought and couldn't find a date on any of them. I would presume that if the TPMS wasn't cycling on and off or actively measuring tire pressure it wouldn't lose a lot of power, but I'm no electronics wizard. Those that I bought came from a Chevy dealership who sells on eBay and so I guess the same question could be asked about shelf life at a GM distributorship? I've bought and used TPMS from eBay several times and they always worked as expected. If you all don't want to buy them, no one's twisting your arms. I just answered the question of where you could find them at the best price.

In my entire history with cars with TPMS, I've never had a battery fail or any failure of any type with the systems. Who knows, but at the price savings, I think you could gamble a little. These of course are GM products. If anyone on the forum has had a problem with TPMS purchased off of eBay, maybe they will chime in.

NOTE: I googled shelf life for TPMS sensors and it said they have a useful life of from 5 to 10 years for whatever that might help in decisions. It's been a long long time since I kept a car even 5 years. My last one didn't last 30 days and it was totaled by a rear end crash while I sat at a traffic light...lol.

do you still need a programmer for a new set of OEM TPMS sensors, or does the car pick them up?

I've heard that some cars program themselves, but my experience with Camaros they don't. There's a GM program tool on eBay (here we go again) for less than 10 dollars and I've had two of them and they work very well. The first was a Bosch branded unit, but the others, obviously made by the same manufacturer are unbranded. I gave the others away when I sold tires or wheels. Easy to operate and something you need if you swap between wheels and tires maybe for an attack on the drag strip...lol.

Cheapest I can find is a set of 4 sensors and locking nuts for $183 shipped from wildhammer motorsports. Purchased from them before and will buy these from them. Cheap compared to the $85 a piece my local dealer quotes me

I checked again on the actual vendor of the 4 that I just bought off of eBay and they were sold by GM Parts Direct. I suspect they keep parts moving through their system without a lot of shelf life so batteries shouldn't be a problem. These especially since Camaro guys are always changing wheels. $111.00 and no taxes with free shipping...pretty hard to beat for 4 of the correct TPMSs.

Don't go for the cheapest. Make sure they are genuine GM parts. Too many people have had trouble by trying to save money.
