Constant Squeak in rear of car.

I have this extremely annoying squeaking that's happening at the rear of the car. It sounds to me like its under the car, maybe under the trunk area. Anytime the car shakes side to side on bumpy roads or goes up and down it squeaks.

If you know the sound of two pieces of styrofoam being rubbed together thats what it sounds like.

I drove with the rear seat down and the trunk uncovered and it didn't change volume so I don't think it's in the trunk itself.

Anyone experience this?

I am having the same exact issue. I thought it may be the styrofoam in the area where the jack is located, so I removed the jack but still had the issue. My other thought was the tail light since I replaced the stock lights with the GM blacked out lights. Let me know if you determine the problem. I am going to keep looking.

On my 2015 Cadillac ATS , I had this problem and it was due to the emergency brake cables rubbing, there was a rubber star shaped isolator that is on the cable to protect it from rubbing , this would go through a steel loom in a few spots and one being under the rear wheel lining , all ended up squeaking like crazy when going over bumps, problem was the rubber was to hard, to solve this problem I had to coat all the star shape isolators with grease , not saying this is your problem but worth having a look considering it's the same chassi.

Check the exhaust hangers and make sure they arent causing it.

I notice that too on my zl1 but only when the rear seats are down.....do y'all have npp? Maybe it's those. I've already had the valve on the passenger side rattle when it was shut that I was able to fix. Just happened to be the valve barely touching the piping and vibrating

Hello, just checking back if anyone has found a solution to this issue. I have still not been able to locate the problem.

I've got a new creak when I accelerate or let off the gas. Sounds like the body seam is creaking. Maybe the seat rocking back and forth. It just started so I'll try to figure it out. Maybe the door striker plate needs grease?

Did any of you check on what I said above? This chassi has the same hard rubber star isolaters. They are on brake hoses and cables and run through steel wire loom, it sounds to be the same issue that you are having possibly.

I had the same problem. It's the bolts on the rear diffuser between the exhaust tips.

Neverenuff, that's exactly where it is. Mine seems to be in the middle of the right rear. How did you fix the problem? Do you need to remove the diffuser?
