They compared the appearance to the Type R?

It doesn't have fake vents and styling cues like the Type R.

Type R is a non factor. Cool if you are 24 years old.

The Type R is for people that don't have enough money to buy a real sports car.

Stone tires made by a caveman would offer more grip than the bespoke track-focused Goodyear rubber when cold, and the stiff springs paired with the Multimatic DSSV dampers turn the ZL1 1LE into a pogo stick on the road.
But yet this car would just about out handle any car on the road today.

So a track focused car has no traction when the tires are cold? Unheard of.

You know it’s a funny statement but in all truthfulness a well driven Type R will kick the snot out of a poorly driven zl1 (on track). I’ve beat some high horsepower rwd cars in my FiST in our local circuit cross league. I also drive my camaro a lot faster now because I learned to really push my FiST hard on track. It moves around a ton! All that said, I was in heaven the other weekend when I had the camaro at VIR.
