Rear Window Sticker Removal

Some A-Hole in my apartment complex put a 6x6 sticker on my convertibles rear window. I tried to peel it off, but could only get little pieces off.

Before I try something that may ruin the rear window or top, is there a way to safely remove stickers from our rear convertible windows?

I tried searching the forum, but the search feature doesn't seem to be working.

Try a little heat. Or get it off the best you can and then use some wax and silicone remover to rub the rest off.

I've been using 3M adhesive remover for years. It is safe on paint, plastic, etc. It removes stickers and glue very quickly and safely. However, I have never tried it on clear plastic, if that is what your window is made of. I'd test it on a small spot first, but my guess is that it will work just fine. I pick it up at my local NAPA if you have one near you: https://www.amazon.com/3M-General-Pu...SmU&dib_tag=se

Dampen (but don't drench) a soft cloth or rag with warm water, place it on top of the sticker, and let it soak in for ~10 minutes. The sticker, and maybe even most of the adhesive, should come right off with gentle rub.

If any adhesive left, get the stuff MT suggests, and that should be fine to use on the glass if the directions don't say otherwise. (I'm guessing you'll want to avoid getting any of it onto the top's fabric though.)

Thanks everyone. I was leaning towards the soaking method, but wanted to hear other opinions.

I think that I'll wait for the weather to warm up. I just glanced over at my weather station and it's show 1.9°F.

Highly recommended. I keep this product on hand. Works great.

So what was written on the sticker? Inquiring minds want to know.

I'm sure that you'll find it disappointing. I paid my updated registration online but never received the new stickers. I had forgotten about it until this. I went back online and it shows that I paid back in Aug. 2023. My apartment complex is real anal about this. You're not even allowed to part a motorcycle here unless visiting. That's why I have a garage here. That line, top right is just a shadow or reflection.

Is that window glass or plastic? Sorry, not familiar with the convertible.

MT,

Luckily these days, it's glass. So when I added my note to the OP, I said that the product you suggested would almost definitely not cause any problem, if it was needed to remove any residual adhesive.

Yeah, the 3M adhesive remover will remove that with no problem. I've used it on glass to remove adhesive many times and it works awesome. Heck, on glass you could probably use Acetone/nail polish remover with no issues. Just don't get it on the paint!

Or the more commonly available Googone in gel form as to lessen having it run down on your ragtop. And a crisp new razor blade with said cleaner/lubricant is no harm to the glass for adhesive removal

@CalgaryZL1 I won't get close to it with a razor blade. I notice that you drive a coupe.

I didn’t say a machete, I said a small razor blade to carefully remove the sticker. It’s no different than getting close to the paint on a Coupe.
