10L60 to a 10L90 is it possible?
Hello Gen6 owners.
Like everyone else I have a list of things I'd like to set out for the year. One being to supercharge my LGX(keeping stock exhaust). Chances are very slim but, worse case scenario; if the transmission goes, could I have a 10L90 installed oppose to the current 10L60? Yes, I am still under warranty(put <400 miles a month on the vehicle, less during the winter) but just sort of wondering if it's possible. Thanks! |

I’ll say it’s probably not worth it, the fastest 6th gen v6 is on the 8L45 I believe

I'm not trying to be faster than anyone. Just durability being a factor. I'll be thrilled if I get 350/360whp

The 10L90 is the A10 transmission for the ZL1. Pretty sure that this is not a direct bolt-in swap type deal, especially for the V6 model.
Might be different if you had the SS, since they use the 10L80 already (for specific years anyways).

That makes sense, mine is also the A10, I just wanted to see if it was capable to mount to a V6 I just figured it's from the same family, just has more potential to handle more power( God forbid if mine goes)

There are lots of parts that are from the "same family" but don't swap in/out easily. From what I can tell from the outside, they are not directly swappable. With work, it's probably possible..

To the Op, just get your original trans rebuilt if needed after the mods done to the V6.
