I left my car sitting during winter... Haven't started it for 4 months, no battery tender... Started as if I drove it the day before. Aftermarket taillights are the problem.

No reason to start you car if it is on a trickle charger for 9 months. In fact I would consider removing the battery and charge it outside the car if I was going to let it sit for this long. No need to start it often as this might do more harm than good. Heating up the oil and then allowing it to cool repeatedly while it is just sitting might induce more condensation in the engine and thus more water in the oil. I know this is a heavily debated subject on the forum but something to bear in mind.

You could also unplug the lights while the car is in storage as another alternative but hopefully the wiring harness on the way will be the solution.

Thanks, not a bad idea at all.

What exactly are you trying to figure out. From what I understand of what you wrote, the lights work. Just not when you use the fob to lock/unlock. If that’s correct it may just be a resistance problem. If the work fine when the car is on then I don’t see it as a huge problem and might be fixed with a resistor but I’m no expert.

This will work for certain.

I had posted in another recent thread about what needs to be done here. The LED/resistor combo may not be enough because there is a shared ground between reverse lights and taillights. There is a bias voltage applied when the vehicle is off. You may need a diode to block the return path of that bias voltage through your LED lights. This is a proposed solution I saw in another thread that sounds reasonable. Not sure if it was tested.

Bottom line is you have to have a good grip on the electronics to install LED's. Not sure trusting an aftermarket supplier to send you a harness is enough.

This is a pretty old thread. i would suspect helix figured this out or stopped selling this configuration.
Sounds like Maddtazz is saying you need a special harness for each side.
