Motul RBF 600 DOT4 OK?

Just seeing if this brake fluid would be OK for track use.
I have some left over and at $20 a bottle I would like to use it if I can. Thanks

Yes. And for street use, too. I used it for years for track and street.

Yes for stock tires and brake pads. No for 100 treadwear tires on 6 month old brake fluid in my experience. Probably not advisable if you are running more agressive pads than stock since they will likely generate more heat.

I currently use this in my C5 Z06 track car. Works great but I do a good bleed prior to each track day. If your leftover fluid has been sitting around open it may have absorbed a fair amount of moisture. You've got a $40K-$50K (or so) Camaro, spend $60 on brake fluid and do a thorough bleed/flush and you're ready for some aggressive braking!

It's fine, but if you're too lazy to bleed at least 1x per season (like me), get Castrol SRF. Wet boiling point is way higher than anything else on the market, so you can really extend your drain interval. To like 3 years.

I've done sub 8min laps on the 'Ring in a BMW M2 with PFC08 pads and 3 year old Castrol SRF. Same goes for 168mph to 0 stops coming off unlimited sections of the Autobahn. No issues at all.

As long as the Motul has not been opened, you should be fine. I echo the comments that the SRF is quite a bit better though.

Sorry forgot to ask how many of these small 500 mL (1 pint) bottles should I plan on for replacing the stock fluid?

Luckily one bottle of the Motul is unopened. I've had good luck with it, but maybe I'll try the Castrol next time around. Thanks for all the excellent advice.

I would only use unopened bottles otherwise you are putting fluid into the car that has already absorbed some moisture from sitting, lowering the boiling point.

I believe 2 bottles is just enough but 3 is probably safer especially if your current fluid hasn't darkened much.

I've always used 660 RBF and have mine as a semi-daily driver and I usually flush mine after about 6-8 track days depending on which tracks I'm running

You need two bottles to flush and it helps to have a third for bleeding and "just in case" you need a bit more than two for spillage, etc.

Thanks - was wondering how much everyone needed to chase out the stock fluid.
