however... the buldge in the hood almost Garrantees the 5.0 302 engine (like ive been saying) because if not for looks (which that hood cant possibly be) than it must be for function, aka engine space. and no not for their 4.6

You're right Croathlete, the front does look a bit deformed but I like with what they did with the rear end.

So they fixed the rear which on the current car is fugly but screwed up the front which on the current car looks decent. I think I'll stick with

It's funny, usually when I see a car there will be some reaction to it, good or bad. I like this, not this but when I look at these pics of the new Mustang...there is nothing. It might as well just be a pic of the road the car is on. lol Way to raise the bar Ford.

I'll pass judgment when I see what's under the hood.

It would look MUCH better if Ford relocated the fog lamps to the lower grill (smaller of course). From what I've seen of spyshots though, the interior is a huge improvement.

Also, I thought this was on target for Fall of '09, did it get moved up?

95-99 eclipses have a hood bulge for aesthetics only. This is one example of a bunch of cars like that. Doesn't guarantee anything.

So is it me or do the headlamps & turn signals on the 09/2010 Mustang look almost identical to the Camaro's... ???

The Camaro better come out with this, so we don't have to argue with the Mustang owners about who copied who... lol j/k

IDK, the Mustang (as much as I hate it) has remained the best seller in this segment for how many years...

Good thing for us is that it's still on the same platform as the current gen Mustang, it's getting a revised look, front and rear end, & re-freshed interior.

They need to give the V6 Mustang some more HP... At least 250 & match the Challenger SE's 250hp Magnum V6, while the V6 Camaro will be laughing both with it's 300hp...

And yeah, I'm curious to see what the Mustang GT gets...

The next gen Mustang though.... could be competitive... Just not this gen... LMAO!

The current gen deserves way more credit than it gets, especially since the new Camaro wouldn't exist if not for the Mustang's recent success. 5.2 0-60 and a 13.5 1/4 mile are pretty good numbers. Mine runs about 13 flat with some simple modifications.

Competition is good for everyone regardless of personal preference. I hope the Mustang comes back with 400-hp at $26k, because if it does the SS will have to be cheaper as well.

I really don’t think it looks bad. Of course, I'm waiting for the production unveiling in LA before I make my mind up. What worries me is the rumors of a 400 HP power plant. If this happens look out, us SS owners are going to have our hands full…

Oh very true. The Mustang GT is like the bargain sports car of the century.

The fact that it does do 0-60 in 5.2-5.1 seconds, and the quarter in 13.5 is very impressive for what it costs. I do agree with that too.

It's funny because I never got into the Mustang vs Camaro wars, because well, I never really cared for the Camaro until now.

But even though I personally I don't care for the Mustang, I do have respect for it... Well the GT's...
