I just pre-ordered mine. As good as the cap looks couldn't bring myself to order a plain black cap for $70.

It's CNC machined billet aluminum with 3M tape ... super-premium stuff.

If you wanna go cheap then I'm sure a $5 can Krylon from a nearly home store and a stripe of 1/2" painter's tape to retain visibility of fluid level will suffice. But that's kinda missing the point of engine bay dress up, isn't it?

I ran into the same thing when I bought the $500 tank and definitely couldn't bring myself to add the cap.

They are quality and 70 is the going price for quality billet so it is what it is.
