OP mentions that this will also have to be done with the 7" but I'd have to disagree. Having the 7" in my new ''16 (old 5th gen pic in profile), the screen already has a matte finish to it and hasn't given me any issues with glare so far. I test drove a Camaro with the 8" though and can see why it might be needed for there though. Then again, maybe it's just me.

I really haven't had issues personally with my 8" screen, however this is an excellent solution. Thanks for the work gen5diy!

Ok we did some tests, and went with the 1/2mm less then full screen (makes life easier to install) we have it in the car, here is a pic.
now we will have some made to sale, 2-4 weeks out. |

I made a template with paper and pencil, streamlined it a bit then traced it on to a universal tablet screen protector. Works perfect.
