why isn't it on here yet? Im a little confused.. What kind of footwell lights are we talking about? i understand it might be worth the money if they go with the spectrum lighting but for the people that don't have that, there are footwell lighting kits for like $50 or less and with multiple colors and even a music mode where they flash to the beat. (for those who are into that)

People at GM are smoking some really bad stuff if they think people are going to drop a grand on footwell lighting. Buncha crackheads

Does the 2SS come ready for the footwell lights? Meaning, if I buy the kit, can I get it installed and have the functionality for them to integrate into the rest of my lighting by default?

Yes, the mounting hole's are there and it connects with GM t-taps to the ABL in the 2SS.

On shopchevyparts.com there are two options for footwell lighting, is it the one that explicitly says interior footwell lighting or is it the one that says interior spectrum lighting?

If you're wiring directly in to existing ambient lighting wiring (because maybe you have some of the options but apparently not the footwell), what does the GM hundred+ dollar offering give you that $6 bucks same day shipped 9ft EL wire can't?

Had a buddy add some LED strips under his dash and tapped into the ambient lighting box and works just like the rest. Not sure about el wire. But eBay LED strips work fine. He paid $15 for a 5 meter run of LEDs.

Would be interested to see a "how to" on that with the parts he used.

I'll ask him. I believe he just followed 2SSRSGen5diys guide but used his own LED strips.

So it changes colors with the rest of ambient lighting or just turns on with it?

But does it change color with the rest of the car? i know we can add a single color and it will work, N.P. but to get the same as the rest of the car, it will not do. here is how it works, there are left and right LED, and when we opened them up the where all controlled on a BUS with a chip that told them what color the rest of the ABL was on, and to do the show mode they fire from the controller and are told what color the need to be at that moment.
