Top rubbing paint off on window header

I dont know what this is called, but you can see that the clear coat is wearing and then the paint in next. This is where to top locks into position above the header of the window. Just wondering if i should cover this area in ppf?
Picture is hard to see, but the roof is clearly rubbing this area when it it closed.

Maybe put some Expel there, or some kind of good polymer polish.

I had that started and it's when small rocks or dirt rubbing when the car twists a little. about once a week I pop the top a little bit and clean it. so far no more wear.
