What went wrong

I own a manual 2017 ZL1. I took in into the stealership because of a noisy supercharger. Dealership said it did a new upper pulley, so they replaced it u under warranty. Not that I have the car back, it seems that the supercharger whine is a lot quieter than before and the car does not to pull as hard as it did before, through any of the gears. What gives? Anyone have any idea why this would have happened? Is there anything else that might be wrong with it. Only mods are k&n CAI n ported throttle body. Thanks in advance

Air in the SC coolant loop will cause the pump to cavitate and shut down boost. No codes will be thrown.

Bleed the SC loop.

These idiots probably didn’t bleed the super charger after. Make sure you bleed it

so the SC needs bleeding every time the pulley is replaced?

Pretty sure you cannot change the pulley block bearing with the SC on the car.

I’ll be taking back to the dealership and ask them to bleed the lines, thanks for the responses.

I do not track my car. How would I know if I need to do this procedure? The car definitely has a drop off in power in hot weather. Thanks.

Had the service performed and no change. It still doesn’t feel the way it should, what gives? Any other ideas, what could be causing the issue?

Check the bypass valve set screw, post a pic up and I'll have a look for you. What is your boost gauge peaking at on a WOT hwy pull?

As noted, take it back and make them bleed the supercharger coolant pathways. Or get the edelbrock reservoir and do it yourself.

Get the ADM performance LT4 SC reservoir and you wouldn't have to worry about air in the lines. It takes less than a hour to install and it is well worth the money, plus it gives you a little more coolant.

A reservoir goes a long way. If you don't have one its very easy for an air bubble to shut down your pump. No pump means sky rocketing intake temps and no power. I can't stress enough how many dealers skip the bleeding process. Nearly half of the cars don't have any fluid in their blowers when we take them apart.

OP did you buy the car new? I've never heard of a noisy pulley? If anything goes bad on the supercharger it would be bearings or isolator. Or maybe a tensioner/idler pulley could have gone bad which wouldn't require them to remove the blower.
