Here you go;

ZL1 1LE rear wheel GM part #(84328494)

The cheapest you will find on the internet is around $580 each at places like GM parts direct.

So I see there is a core charge for each wheel ($50) so if your not sending them the same wheel back, regardless of condition they’re actually $50 more than their listed price. I had an $80 core charge for a rear tail light that got hit on my 18’ Raptor.
Can someone please explain to me the reason for these core charges, what possible reason is there for this practice on non remanufacturable parts ?

Chevy, as well as, other car manufacturers are now doing core charges for some of their replacement parts. Their reasoning is that they believe that this will detour aftermarket companies from buying their parts new and replicating them.

SOP and normal in the auto industry and the purpose is recycling. As an FYI, a core can be any car/truck wheel, it does not need to be the same as what you are replacing, they just want a wheel back. If you are buying as a spare and you know your local auto/tire shop, they often have a throw away wheel they will give you for free and you just send that back.

Both of these replies seem plausible and perhaps true but when I asked why Ford wanted my tail light back they had no reasonable answer, no answer at all really. The cost of shipping, return trip to a dealer would negate any benefit of recycling and the aftermarket replicating thinking is dubious as well as it’s just too easy and cheap enough to buy any parts and copy them, it would most likely be lucrative enough that those costs would be easily absorbed when selling the new copied parts.
So, I still don’t get it !

I ordered my extra set through Becky and got a set of PS4's to go on them.

None of the aftermarket wheels had exact offests and most were designed to fit the regular ZL1 and/or other models so not a perfect fit. OEM just seemed to be the way to go and keep everything matched up.

My dealer want $945 per wheel. EEK. Was Becky reasonable. Edit. That's with the core charge.

You'd have to check in with Becky on that. I'm not sure if she hooked me up or not. I'll check in with her and find out. Shipped to my door and then I got a set of PS4s and TPMS for a second set.

No core charge. I just purchased them outright.

Edit: she said PM for pricing so she can figure the shipping cost. Price is way better than the one quoted above.
