I have the 7000EXT and have used it a number of times already and love it.
The 5000SLX worked just fine for me

Would the SLX + extensions be more flexible? I wonder if the EXT would be too long for many smaller cars? If that's the case I'd go SLX + extensions. If not $100 more to not have extra parts required is maybe worth it... but then again the extensions would probably give it a couple more inches of lift by the looks of it.

After spending way too much time figuring out how to jack the car up without damaging it using a rubber pinch weld block + a hockey puck, cutting slots in my jackstands for the pinch weld to sit into, ugh... one of these lifts + the alum pinch weld blocks seem like a good idea. This will make it so much nicer to work under the car too...

I know what I'm asking for for Christmas this year!
Interesting. I wonder why his store is $100 cheaper.

I purposely got the SLX + extensions because of some of my cars (specifically the MR2s). So it is more flexible but the minimum height goes up 1.5" when you add the extensions which makes (off the top of my head) the minimum clearance 4.5" or so. That might require some lower cars to be driven up on 4 short 2x4's first.

Of course, you also gain 1.5" of lift height with the extensions which is nice.

I use 4 3" tall jack pucks which have a 15mm slit cut into them for the pinch wheels. On the Camaro, the just barely clear the rocker but they do clear it.

I assume you are jacking it from the rearward front point and the rear vs the frontmost point up front?

I'd like to look into a set perhaps.

You are correct. Knowing the extensions add height to the overall unit, I was concerned about clearance since I only have an inch or two of clearance on the front lift point. That and the extra 2000 lbs of lift is why I opted for the 7000XLT.

Quick jack has a $100 off promo code at check out if you buy from them direct. Therefore, the 7000XLT is the same price as the 5000SLT with the extensions and you get more lifting ability for trucks/sedans. I was going to wait for the Holidays and get mine as a gift to myself too. I'm glad I made them an early Christmas present as I have already used them for the 1st oil change, 1st diff. change and exhaust swap. Quick jack has free shipping too.

promo code: Money

The only think I have that the 5000 can't lift.. the 7000 can't lift either ha

The one thing that does annoy me about the Quick Jack line is that there isn't a great "all around" solution because of the design. If I had garage ceiling height of 10' or more I could have done a 4 post instead with center subframe jacks.

Oh well.
