How long should our belts last?
I was looking a my belt and saw hairline cracks on the ribbed side of the belt. About 69k miles on the car. Is that normal for these cars.

I'm at 57K miles and my belt looks the same. I need to change it and the tensioner as well.

Great car up to 100k. Now it's pushing back on me a bit. Thank goodness I know how to work on my own car and also have a bumper to bumper warranty up to 144k from my credit union. Already saved me thousands. Me personally, if I saw any cracks, even at that mileage, I'd just change it. The belt is cheap, and it's a quick job if you do it yourself, or around a hundred bucks for labor if an auto car repair shop does it. |
