Curious too the resolution and the why. Blessed update post when you know. I'm getting one of these for Valentine's Day (irrational rationale).

The conditions you have explained are completely abnormal for our intake; therefore, we should be able to track down the issue quite easily. Here are the possibilities. I established this order to troubleshoot because the first two can be addressed by you.
1) Installation problem
2) Compatibility with tune/other mods
3) Component problem

1. Check the breather hose to elbow and canister to be sure it is connected and tight. On the top side of the breather canister, pull upwards on the factory connection to be sure it’s snapped in place. Look closely at the coupler connections-especially the bottom side of couplers to be sure the couplers are engaged and the clamp is properly located on the clamping surface. Check MAF sensor screws to be sure they are secure. Check filter for engagement on the housing. Was the MAF sensor connector unplugged during the install?
2. Is the car otherwise stock? Any history of tuning or “chips”?
3. Component issues would need to be addressed by us.

If you have thoroughly covered 1 and 2 above and still have not identified the issue, please contact us directly and we will email a shipping label to you. Given the unique conditions you have experienced, its best that the product is shipped back to us so we can install it on our Camaro SS for troubleshooting.
We seldom have issues arise with our products, but when we do we take them very seriously. Fortunately, this post was brought to my attention as well as a review you posted elsewhere on the internet regarding this same issue. For you or anyone else, feel free to call our shop directly at 260-375-4480 and we will work with you right then with any problems or concerns you have. Customer satisfaction is very important to us and direct contact is the fastest way for us to address your concerns.

I will say one thing the support from them is awesome!
They are working very hard to help me figure this out.
Battery is disconnected now for 6 hours, then connect it back & pray it starts.

I sent pictures to them & the install is correct, the inTune i3 Platinum I have is set back to stock tune & it still won't start. I'm praying it starts when I connect the battery back in 6+ hours. I'm also very sick with a sore throat & sinus infection & it 27 degrees in my garage...

Wonder if the connectors are making good contact. Mine went on with no issues and started right up no problem. I don't see how a CAI could cause a car not to start unless one of the connectors aren't connected right.

It is very strange and I have installed a dozen or more of the Roto-Fab intakes and have never had anything like that happen

I only disconnected the TB sensor plug, I never unplugged the MAF sensor just took out the 2 screws & dropped it right back in with the 2 new supplied screws. Just doesn't make any since...

Like you, I am hoping for a good start-up after the battery disconnect. A best case scenario would be you had a loose OBDII connection while you were flashing tunes with your hand-held tuner which can cleared up with the battery disconnect.

After our last conversation, I continued to research your codes and possible causes. As we discussed, the PO697 code most commonly refers to a damaged or defective PCM. The list of symptoms does fit your car's conditions. Here is what I found:

What causes the P0697 code?
Several problems may cause a P0697 code including:
• Damaged, open, or shorted wiring and connectors between control modules (including the ECM)
• Damaged, open, or shorted wiring and connectors between engine sensors
• Damaged or defective ECM

What are the symptoms of the P0697 code?
Symptoms of a P0697 code may include:
• Check engine or warning light may illuminate
• The vehicle may not start
• The vehicle may start, but with some difficulty
• The engine may idle roughly
• The vehicle may lack power during acceleration
• The engine may run roughly during normal driving conditions
• The engine may misfire
• Decreased fuel economy

While we will certainly replace any Roto-fab parts if faulty, this is pointing to an electrical issue which would not be caused by an air intake system. Again, hopefully this is cleared up with the battery disconnect.

I do have messages sent to a couple of people that may have more insight on electrical issues. I will relay any new information directly to you. In my troubleshooting advice to you, I stated we would want to test this system on our stock car. This was the next step in the event there were no other variables involved. I'll leave that open as an option, but it appears the root of this problem will be found elsewhere.

IT'S FIXED!!!
Not sure what it was, but connected the battery up & it started right up.
Took it for a spin & hammered it...NO CEL! YEAH!
It runs perfect, I think it was the inTune i3 Platinum tuner was doing some weird stuff.

I really want to thank Roto-Fab for taking time to work on this immediately for me!
