Heat Extractor Removed - Photo

I finally decided to get my entire hood and exposed carbon fiber heat extractor clear bra covered.

In the process, he removed the heat extractor so the film would roll down under the hood and show no seams.

I thought some of you may want to see what the hood looks like with the extractor removed.

You can order the Carbon Fiber extractor separate, but it is in the $2000 neighborhood...ouch :(

...maybe just wrap the painted one, it's still real Carbon Fiber under, I believe.

Thanks for sharing this...I wonder how more/less helpful would running like this be with regards to cooling....

...I also noticed you took your spoiler off, is that pretty straight forward? I am considering changing mine, so just curious, thanks

All good questions!! I left my car with the installer Thursday. I'll pick it up Tuesday and plan to ask those exact questions!

With regard to the heat extractor, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere in the owners manual (or supplement) removing that and other pieces under the front bumper facilitates cooling.

The spoiler looks easy to remove, the rear view mirrors don't! I'll ask Tuesday.

By the way, I'm having the spoiler and rear view mirrors painted Mosaic Black in addition to the clear bra film.

Thank you for replying. But Ouch $2000. i'll need to talk to them about that. Another option is to wait for the 2018's. And order a car with that and the carbon dash.

Any real ideas when they are going to start building them?

Automotive Apparel is doing their thing.

Can't wait to see it done.

Yes they are all CF. I actually prefer them painted as it matches the rockers, splitter and diffuser .

Thanks for picture. I have Summit White w CF and it looks awesome in person, along with other black accents. If you haven't seen C Webster, (car is Black) he painted his heat extractor bright Red. Looks pretty cool!
