I'm dealing with the same thing. I've developed the shudder in March and I haven't even attempted going to the dealer in fear that it will not happen during the test drive and then I've wasted more time. Most if the time, I need hills for the shudder and there are no hills in the immediate area of the dealership so the likelihood is very low.
I've also tried to get a technical way to prove this transmission is a piece of shit, but all they will provide is a subjective opinion of a trans tech. Well, if this person only works on GM junk, then of course he will think it's okay. Comparing these car's behaviors to a properly working transmission is the only way to understand how bad they are...and this is just not happening. I have video in which you can hear the shudder because it makes something else in this piece of shit rattle. It's at the same or similar frequency all the time so I now know exactly when it's happening. The video also shows a perfectly paved road so they should be able to conclude that it's not the road. I also have video of a G-meter showing the bump from behind which they already dismissed as anything. "It's normal." Well, if it's normal then it should happen ALL of the time. So when the bump from behind doesn't happen, when the shift is smooth, is that normal too??? Good and bad shifts can't both be normal...can they??? This type of logical reasoning doesn't take place. It's like I'm in the twilight zone. If GM is okay with the feelings of a tech to diagnose this issue, why don't they do the same for airbags and ABS and paint thickness and yield strength of a structural component??? "Yeah, it looks like that airbag came out fast enough to save a life." "That paint looks shiny enough..ship it!!" "Look, I can stand on this suspension cradle and it doesn't break!!" You know that's not happening, so why can't this be fixed??? There is a technical way to diagnose these issues but the dealerships are too incompetent to figure it out and GM is well...you can fill in the blank...they already lost me for life. If you figure anything out...please post!!

I would ask the dealer for a test drive in another car and see how that car drives. If it doesn't exhibit the same or similar symptoms as your car, ask for an explanation as to why.
