Trunk 100% Opener?

Does anyone know of a mod that, when you press the trunk release, not only cracks the trunk open but actually fully opens it?

It’s not a huge issue but it would be nice.

On a slightly related note, do cars with spoilers have different trunk struts than those without? I added a 1LE style spoiler to my car and the trunk slams a little harder than I’d like.

Thanks in advance!

No interest in ''full open" upon release for me. Simple unlatch without open avoids trunk drench in rain storm, or turning into a sail against hinges with strong wind. However, your ask is reasonable, being akin to an automatic full-open tailgate on an SUV, or full opening slide on a minivan.

In other words, similar to hood struts, that provide lift when the latch is undone? Sizing would probably be an issue, but that's just internet work...

Hello Mogen,

I just checked on my 2022 ZL1 1LE, and the trunk strut part number is 84593815.

No thanks I ain’t out here trying to get swole from lifting.

I’ll check my P/N against the ZL1 one.

It doesn’t rain much here so I’m not worried about my cargo, plus if that’s the case, I’d just pop it with the button by the license plate and prevent it from opening all the way.

I’m a little surprised no one’s brought it up before. It’s only a minor inconvenience but with all the weird things that bother people, I’d figured someone would have found an upgrade.

As The Chief says, you'd need a stronger strut to be able to push the trunk lid into the up position. Liftgate struts on SUVs have an easier job, they are top mounted and only need to "push out", not straight up like in this case. I'm not sure our hood struts would be enough either, but there must be stronger ones out there.

My Cadillac does the spring open when you hit the button on the remote, it's nice when you have hands full but 90% of the time I kind of would like it not to do that as it really throws itself wide open

Just replace the deck lid with a CF one. I know someone who did that on his 5th gen and that thing opened so hard you could do punkin chunkin with it.

I'd be happy if it just unlatched every time I hit the button.

I would be happy to have some handle to close it without touching paint...

I use the bowtie to close the trunk lid, much easier to clean and/or replace than badly scratched up paint
