GM catalogs refer to 1LE parts via the "w/A1Z Package" in the description fyi, no reference to "1LE". Total cost to me was about $475, which was $325ish for both parts shipped to me and about $150 for the paint matching locally. I took them the parts off the car to paint. The ZL1 emblem mount tab and emblem I removed myself with a dremel and sanding set before painting. 1. Upper grille (comes with silver bowtie pre-attached), part # 84380519, $185 and change plus shipping: Upper Grille Link: https://www.thatgmpartsguy.com/oem-p...YtMmwtdjgtZ2Fz 2. Lower grille (comes with silver/red ZL1 emblem pre-attached), part # 84375811, $111 and change plus shipping: Lower Grille Link: https://www.thatgmpartsguy.com/oem-p...Y4LWdhcw%3D%3D Obviously way cheaper vs most of the vendors selling these for MSRP at the above links and I had great customer service from GM Parts Guy. Nothing else required to swap for hardware, but here are a few helpful notes. - The wiring harness for the fog lights and side markers runs from the drivers side into the bumper and has about 12 tabs where it clips in all across the bottom of the bumper. When you unplug the connectors for the fog lights and side markers and pull the bumper, dont pull too far off the car (helping hands is great) until you unclip the harness from those pins or it will be too tightly wired to pull the bumper. - The tabs on the upper grille are VERY tight. You will need several flathead screwdrivers to depress a few tabs and start getting it loose. Bottom grille is actually much easier to remove IMO from the tab design. Put some painters tape around the edges of the upper bumper so you dont scratch the paint. - The grilles are matte black plastic for the 1LE, NOT Mosaic Black Metallic like the OEM ground effects on a 19 ZL1 fyi. Highly recommend paint matching as it looks a bit.. odd.. otherwise with the flat matte grilles and the gloss Mosaic Black ground effects. Just my $0.02. If you need a VIN to have a shop paint match the color to, here is the one I used: 1G1FB1RX5J0191225 Link to the above VIN to verify the color: https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...&firstRecord=0 |

Bringing this one back from the dead. @FoundNeno Did you or your paint shop have any problems painting those grilles being textured ASA plastic and not ABS? Like any adhesion issues? How has it held up over the years? Any updated closup pictures you could share? Getting ready to do this conversion myself and really want to paint those grilles mosaic black if I can. Thanks for the original post you made giving me hope I can get these painted. |

Love everything he did with this car but the grill definitely doesn't need paint.
This is pretty much what GM did with the Panther cars except for the front splitter. |

So the front splitter showed up today and it is much more of a glossier satin in person so I am a little on the fence to paint it mosaic black or not but I do have a gloss black with mosaic black ground effects ZL1 sooo lol. Unfortunately I won't be doing anything just yet because it arrived damaged with a broken tab barely hanging on 🙁

That tab looks fixable. With the parts availability situation these days, I'd consider giving it a try with JB Weld or something.
